Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University (Department of Neurology)

Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University was founded in 1958 and is a tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital with a focus on neuroscience and geriatrics. It is also one of the cradles for neuroscience startups and talent cultivation in China.
The Neurology Department of Xuanwu Hospital has strong research capabilities, with a focus on cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease as its main development directions. There are currently “Key Laboratory of Neurodegenerative Diseases of the Ministry of Education”, Neurology Laboratory, Neurology Pathology Laboratory, etc. In 2013, the Brain Major Disease Research Institute of Capital Medical University was established, with Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute and Parkinson’s Disease Research Institute located in the Department of Neurology, with excellent laboratory conditions. There are 137 large-scale scientific research instruments worth over 100000 yuan, with a total value of over 100 million yuan. They can independently complete multiple experiments in molecular biology, cytology, experimental animal science, and more. Our department has received over 160 funding grants, with a total amount of 140 million yuan. I have published over a thousand papers and received over 20 scientific research awards at the provincial and ministerial levels. In 2013, I won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and in 2009, I won the second prize of the Chinese Medical Association Science and Technology Award and the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Award. Obtained over 20 patents and over 80 monographs.
