he Department of Neurology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital was established in 1921 and has gone through more than 90 years of trials and tribulations. It has become a renowned neurology specialty in the country and is one of the earliest doctoral and master’s degree granting centers and postdoctoral workstations in neurology in China. We are in a leading position domestically in handling and resolving difficult and severe illnesses. We currently have 11 professional groups (clinical neurophysiology, electroencephalography and epilepsy, dementia and cognitive impairment, cerebrovascular disease, Parkinson’s and motor disorders, neuropathology, neuromuscular disease, infection and cerebrospinal fluid cytology, neuroimmunity, neurogenetics and sleep), and 9 specialty clinics (neuromuscular disease clinic, muscle tone disorder and botulinum toxin treatment clinic, Parkinson’s disease and elderly dementia clinic, epilepsy clinic, cerebrovascular disease clinic, motor neuron disease, myasthenia gravis clinic, multiple sclerosis clinic, and headache clinic), providing high-level medical services for patients.
